A bereaved mother, Philomena Odama, has cried out to the world to help her get justice for her daughter allegedly murdered by one Alhaji Adamu Usman in Abuja. Odama alleged that Usman murdered her daughter under the pretense of helping her financed her and other girls in the neighbourhood to finance their education. Odama wrote a petition to the Inspector General of Police and Senate president alleging that the police and the alleged killer of her daughter coerced her to collect N400,000 as settlement after her daughter's death. A Lagos based pastor, Lewa Timothy of First Born Of The Spirit Ministries, Lagos, has been arrested and will be arraigned at a Lagos state magistrate court for allegedly having sex and impregnating 14 year old Chineye, the daughter of one of his members. In an interview with LIB, Barrister Kingsley Ughe who is the General Council of the Joint Action Legal Aids, an NGO following up the case, said Chineye is a student and an ardent worshipper of the church.   A man, identified as Chibuike Onwuchekwa, reportedly inflicted injuries on his housemaid for failing to fill two water containers at Umuga Ovom in Obingwa, local government area of the state. According to Vanguard, eyewitnesses revealed that Onwuchekwa and his wife had, last Sunday, May 28, sent the young girl to fill two water containers in their house from a nearby borehole, while they left for church service. However, when the couple returned from church, they discovered that the girl, aged about 10, was unable to fill the two containers before the borehole owner closed shop. Onwuchekwa beat the girl, leaving her with injuries, locked her up and left for an event with his wife, despite the pleas from neighbours.
